Digital Designer – Automotive Retail Campaigns

We’re looking for a performance-driven Digital Designer who knows how to stop the scroll and drive action.

This role is heavily focused on designing high-impact campaign concepts for automotive retail clients. You’ll create attention-grabbing digital creative that is built to convert, from Meta and Google ads through to EDMs, landing page layouts, and supporting campaign assets. While you’ll still contribute to UX/UI website design in Figma, the core of this role is campaign thinking: strong hooks, clear offers, sharp CTAs, and visuals that sell cars.

You’ll work alongside strategists, account managers, and ad specialists to bring retail offers and brand campaigns to life in a fast-paced agency environment.

Key Responsibilities

Campaign Concept & Creative Execution

  • Design thumb-stopping campaign concepts tailored to automotive retail audiences

  • Create high-performing ad creative for Meta, Google Display Network, and Performance Max campaigns

  • Develop campaign suites including static ads, carousels, GIFs, short-form motion graphics, and supporting visuals

  • Translate dealership offers, finance promos, and clearance campaigns into compelling visual narratives that drive enquiries and showroom traffic

  • Apply strong visual hierarchy, urgency, and offer-led design to maximise conversion

Conversion-Focused Design

  • Design with a clear focus on attention, clarity, and action (clicks, leads, bookings)

  • Apply UX and behavioural principles to ensure messaging is instantly understood and persuasive

  • Craft strong layouts with clear CTAs, pricing/offer callouts, and benefit-driven messaging

  • Continuously refine creative based on performance data and A/B testing insights

Digital & Campaign Asset Production

  • Produce static, animated, and motion-based assets using Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud

  • Design display banners, social ads, landing page mock-ups, and campaign collateral

  • Build visually engaging EDM designs in platforms like Mailchimp or similar

  • Ensure all creative aligns with brand guidelines, platform specs, and dealership mandatories

Website & UX/UI Contribution

  • Design conversion-optimised website pages and landing experiences in Figma

  • Apply UX best practices including clear user flows, wireframes, and mobile-first layouts

  • Collaborate closely with developers to ensure clean, accurate design handover

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work with marketing strategists and ad specialists to shape creative direction and messaging

  • Contribute proactive ideas to improve campaign performance and engagement

  • Stay up to date with automotive retail trends, promotional tactics, and emerging design tools

  • Use AI tools where appropriate to generate layout variations and speed up production without compromising quality


Required Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Graphic Design, Digital Design, or related field

  • Proven experience as a Digital Designer in a fast-paced environment (agency experience highly regarded)

  • Strong portfolio showcasing campaign concepts, ad creative, and conversion-focused design work

  • Demonstrated ability to design for attention and performance, not just aesthetics

  • Advanced proficiency in Figma for landing pages, layouts, and design systems

  • Strong skills across Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign; After Effects/Premiere a bonus)

  • High proficiency in Canva, including animation and social-ready formats

  • Solid understanding of user behaviour, visual hierarchy, and design for conversion

  • Experience creating static and animated ad creative across Meta and Google platforms

  • Ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines with strong attention to detail

  • Confident collaborating with strategists, developers, and account managers


Nice to Have

  • Experience working with automotive retail or dealership marketing campaigns

  • Understanding of retail promotional mechanics (EOFY sales, clearance events, finance offers, etc.)

  • Basic motion design or short-form video editing for ad creative

  • Familiarity with campaign performance metrics and A/B testing principles

  • Experience leveraging AI tools to speed up creative production and iteration

  • Automotive offers and promotions are translated into clear, compelling visual campaigns

  • Landing pages and ad concepts are built with conversion as the primary goal

  • The design team contributes proactively to campaign strategy, not just execution
