Arlberg House is a well-known ski lodge nestled in the heart of Mt Buller, offering guests convenient, comfortable, and affordable accommodation during Victoria’s ski season. As a long-standing provider in the alpine region, Arlberg House caters to families, school groups, and winter sport enthusiasts looking for easy access to the slopes and a memorable mountain experience.
Like many in the hospitality industry, Arlberg House was losing a significant portion of its revenue to third-party booking platforms such as Booking.com and Wotif. With commissions cutting deeply into profits and limited control over the customer journey, the business needed a way to drive direct traffic and boost bookings independently.
To address these challenges, a new SEO-optimised website was developed to better attract and convert potential guests. Arlberg House experienced a 669% increase in revenue, a 63% rise in leads, and a website conversion rate of 5.89%, which is double the industry average. This dramatic shift towards direct bookings not only amplified revenue but also significantly reduced the burden of third-party commission fees, bolstering Arlberg House's profitability and control over their bookings.
